The IT Helpdesk Non-Traditional Apprenticeship Program provides state employees with the instruction, training and experience necessary to qualify for the Information Technology Associate classification exam. The program is up to two years in duration and is comprised of on-the-job training (OJT) and college instruction. Apprentice’s OJT tasks can include installing, operating and configuring basic network infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware related issues, and helping department employees resolve their computer problems.
