​2024 CalHR Conference

Labor Relations Conferene. October 16, 8 to 4:30. East End Complex This year’s CalHR Conference has a labor relations focus that aims to be current, strategic and cutting-edge with sessions of general interest to human resources professionals and managers and supervisors as well as “deep dive” sessions for the Labor Relations practitioner.

Among the highlights of this year’s CalHR Conference: 

  • Keynote presentation by CalHR Director Eraina Ortega
  • Presentation of the Robert L. Negri Award​ for achievement in the field of human resources
  • "Rapid sessions" throughout the day

Session Information

There will be open sessions for general stakeholders and sessions designed for labor relations professionals. See session listings below.

Attending this conference will grant attendees a certificate for eight training credits. Please work with your department's training division to check if this credit qualifies for the 20-hour biennial training requirement.

Open Sessions

These sessions are open to all conference participants and will include “the least you need to know” overviews of the subject areas.

These sessions are reserved for labor relations practitioners and will provide updates and best practices in the subject areas.

Rapid Sessions

We are also excited to offer “Rapid Sessions.” Participants at the conference may sign-up for a 10-minute appointment with a subject matter expert in topics that may include apprenticeship, salary, classification, engagement, benefits, workers’ compensation, retirement, Savings Plus, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and more. Rapid Sessions may be available throughout the day.
