Definition
Under direction, to clean windows of multistoried buildings; and to do other related work.
Typical Tasks
Cleans and washes the windows and glass doors of multistoried buildings requiring the use of ladders, scaffolding, staging, strap supports, and other safety devices; erects scaffolds, ladders, and other safety devices; makes minor repairs to windows, window sashes, and venetian blinds; moves equipment and scaffolding, and repairs window-cleaning equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Six months of experience in cleaning windows of multistoried buildings using suspended scaffolding or staging, or strap supports.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: Window-cleaning methods, materials, and equipment; Safety Orders of the Division of Industrial Safety pertaining to window cleaning.
Ability to: Apply Safety Orders of the Division of Industrial Safety pertaining to window cleaning; erect and work from scaffolding, staging, strap supports, and ladders on the outside of buildings of any height; repair window-cleaning equipment; make minor repairs to windows, window sashes, and venetian blinds; follow directions; read and write at a level appropriate to the classification.

Willingness to erect and work from scaffolding, staging, strap supports, and ladders on the outside of buildings of any height and to operate and control mechanical and other suspension equipment; ability to work from high places; agility; and good physical condition.
