WHEREAS, the California Citizens Compensation Commission was established by the voters' passage of Proposition 112 on June 5, 1990; and
WHEREAS, Proposition 112 directs the Commission to establish the annual salary and the medical, dental, insurance and other similar benefits for state officers; and
WHEREAS, Proposition 112 directs the Commission to consider specified criteria in establishing the annual salary and benefits of state officers, including, but not limited to, the annual salary and benefits for other elected and appointed officers and officials in California with comparable responsibilities, the judiciary, and to the extent practicable, the private sector; be it
RESOLVED, that effective December 4, 2023, the annual salary and benefits for state officers shall be as follows:
The annual salary for state officers shall be:
State officers shall continue to be eligible for health benefits under the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital Care Act, with the same state contribution toward monthly premiums that are made for state employees who are designated managerial under section 18801.1 of the Government Code.
State officers other than members of the Legislature shall continue to be eligible for the dental, vision, life insurance, and employee assistance programs that are provided to state employees who are designated managerial under section 18801.1 of the Government Code, with the same state contribution toward monthly premiums that are made for state managerial employees.
State officers other than members of the Legislature shall continue to be eligible for legal services, flexible benefits, long-term care, long-term disability, and deferred compensation programs at their own expense. These programs have no state contribution and none shall be made for these state officers, except as authorized by the Commission.
