Meeting details

The California Constitution requires the Commission to meet by June 30 of each year to decide what, if any, changes should be made to the compensation of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Controller, Treasurer, Insurance Commissioner, Superintendent of Public Instruction, Members of the Board of Equalization, and State Legislators. Any decisions made by the Commission at this meeting would take effect in December 2012.

The Commission was established in June 1990 through the voters' passage of Proposition 112. All of its meetings are public.

  • Approval of summary minutes from the April 14, 2011, Commission meeting.
  • Opening comments by Commission members.
  • Report on the implementation of the April 14, 2011 Resolution.
  • Public testimony.
  • Commission discussion on State officer compensation; request for staff reports.
  • Additional discussion by the Commission members.

To accommodate as many people as possible during the public testimony portion of this meeting, if you want to testify the Commission asks you to:
  • Schedule testimony in advance by calling the contact person listed below.
  • Limit testimony to five to seven minutes.
  • Submit any detailed data or information in writing. We'd appreciate eight copies.
