This workshop will acquaint participants with the Ralph C. Dills Act. Topics will include the rights provided to employees and employee organizations under the Act as well as discretion preserved for department supervisors and managers and basic responsibilities departments must meet pursuant to the Act.
Shawn Ramirez, Labor Relations Officer, California Department of Human Resources. Ms. Ramirez has been in the field of Labor Relations for almost ten years. She has worked for the Department of Developmental Services and Franchise Tax Board as management representatives on a variety of bargaining unit teams along with providing contract administration. Labor Relation rounds out Shawn’s career of more than sixteen years in Human Resources. Ms. Ramirez worked for the Department of Fish and Wildlife performing Classification and Policy, the Department of State Hospitals performing personnel transactions, and the California Public Employees Retirement System conducting retirement calculations. Additionally, she holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a Government Operations focus and a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Management with a concentration in Human Resources.
